The Sunset
The sun has set,
Beautiful but still makes me upset,
The light that once was is now gone,
As it slowly fades away you think to yourself,
What is to come ?
Little by little you regret not holding on and believing the things that you dreamt to be
You let it go and it started to fade away into an abyss,
A bottomless pit that almost feels like you’re drowning in your own despair.
As night falls you start to feel the cold,
You reminisce the good old moments,
The days when you took things for granted,
The days when you got almost everything you wanted.
Then regret sets in like dark clouds on a sunny day,
Blocks the light out and stops you from seeing the beautiful things,
You loose sight of good times,
Suddenly, the moments that made you so happy
Fade away like the smile on your face when you see an empty pip & nut jar in the fridge.
It’s the darkness around that creates the monster within,
But we shall find grace,
In the cluster of the evil lies hope
‘Cause nothing lasts forever
Soon enough the dark clouds will clear
And we shall gain the strength from the things that we bear,
As the day breaks,
“Old things have passed away and all things have become new”.
Hope for good things renew
And the dreams as beautiful as the sunset that we thought was gone,
Will slowly come back to us, like a bee to its hive.
